Saturday, April 16, Noon - 5 pm: VegFest – Join us at the second annual Worcester Vegan and Vegetarian food festival at the Student Center at Worcester State College, 486 Chandler Street, Worcester, MA. This event is a total blast! www.veggieprideparade.org Saturday, August 20, 3 pm - 7:30 pm: INTERNATIONAL HOMELESS ANIMALS' DAY – This is our annual signature event. The purpose is to encourage people to spay or neuter their companion animals and adopt from shelters and rescue organizations. Join us at Hubbard Green on Hubbard Street in Glastonbury. Lots of rescues and vendor tables plus music, raffles, services: ear cleaning and nail clipping, paw reading and massage and reiki for you and your companion (all services $5), Interfaith Blessing of the Animals and fabulous food! New for this year: We announce The Queenie Foundation’s first ever POOCH PARADE AND COSTUME CONTEST! Categories are Best Big Dog, Best Little Dog, Best Dressed Dog and Best Guardian/Companion Look-a-Like (up to your interpretation). Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd winners. Celebrity judges are Clark Denis, Lead Singer from local rockin' band, DiamondBack, Jason Rojas, State Representative 9th District and Bob Kester from Springfield’s own Rock 102. Registration is $5 per dog per category and there’s no limit to the categories you can enter. Please contact us if you would like to volunteer or table. All animal oriented non profits are invited. For the first time, and we hope it will be an annual thing, The Queenie Foundation has teamed up with Keifer’s Kettle Korn to raise money for our rescue/adoption program. Visit us to get some tasty freshly popped kettle corn and refreshments. A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to The Queenie Foundation. Check it out at milfordoysterfestival.com
